Bearden Middle School Swim Team

Welcome Coach Lea!!! 

My name is Lea Gwennap-Foley and I am very excited for this opportunity to coach at the high school level! I’ve been involved with swim most of my life. I started year round swimming when I was 8 in Northern Virginia for Nation’s Capital and my career culminated at the University of Pittsburgh as a student athlete. After my retirement from competitive swim, I picked up a stopwatch and started coaching in Pittsburgh. This will be my sixth year as a coach and have worked with learn to swim all the way up to high school student athletes. This past spring, I graduated with a masters degree in Sport Psychology and Motor Behavior here at UT and look forward to introducing the team to some of the things I learned in the program. Currently, I am a coach at Tennessee Aquatics (TNAQ) with our middle school group and am the Director of Mental Performance. When not on deck, I love spending time with my husband, our three cats, our long-term foster dog, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers & Penguins!
